About David Mikael

David Mikael is a versatile multi-instrumentalist offering expert guitar and bass lessons in Essex County, New Jersey. He teaches students aged 8 and up—ranging from beginners to advanced players—and is celebrated not only for his technical mastery but also for his patience, insight, and remarkable ability to inspire a lasting love of music in every student.

David earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from Montclair State University in 2020, where he studied upright bass under the acclaimed New York bassist Bill Moring. He also studied with notable jazz musicians including Mike Lee, Dave Stryker, Oscar Perez, and others. During his time at Montclair State, David performed in productions alongside professional Broadway pit musicians, gaining hands-on experience in shows such as Anything Goes, Guys and Dolls, Urinetown, the Full Monty, and has appeared on stages in both Philadelphia and New York City.

Fluent across a wide range of genres—including Pop, Rock, Jazz, and Funk—David brings both technical skill and expressive artistry to every performance and lesson. Driven by a passion for continual growth, he has expanded his expertise to include guitar, drums, vocals, and music production, including mixing and mastering. David believes that a truly accomplished musician is versatile and always learning—a philosophy he instills in his students, fostering not only skill but also creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.
